Catherine Corbett: Co-Founder / Tri Active Coach

Proudest Personal Achievement:‘In May 2018 I completed my first Half IronMan with the GTC Team in Port Macquarie. This was the hardest physical and mental challenge I have ever put myself through, and completing this race is one of the proudest moments of my life. The whole event was an incredible experience – the crowds, the participants, the volunteers, the atmosphere!’

Favourite part of a triathlon: Running into the finish line with everyone cheering you on!

Areas of Specialisation: Beginner triathlon coaching, strength & conditioning, transition training

Proudest Personal Achievement: 2017 was a wonderful year for me when it comes to endurance sport. My proudest personal achievement was completing my first ironman 70.3 in Port Macquarie, a close second was completing a 160km cycle race & The Melbourne Marathon (42.2kms) in the same week. Outweighing all of these personal achievements was proudly watching our members achieve their own goals in our first year as a club!

Favorite part of a triathlon: Apart from the finish line (everyone’s favorite), I absolutely love transitioning. It’s so technical and there are so many ways to save time! My favorite is T2 because you can be really fast!

Proudest Personal Achievement: My proudest achievement although it’s not a medal, was achieving a PB that was better than the national qualifying time in both 800m & 1500m. Although I have won many events since then, one of my other proudest achievements was training with dual Olympic 1500m medallist Nick Willis for a whole month!

Favourite part of a running event: Finishing & realising I have achieved my goal time or PB and know that all the hard work has paid off. Of course post event brunch is the real winner!
